Fujian: Sun Chunlan
Sun Chunlan, a native of Raoyang City, Hebei Province, was born in May 1950. She joined the CPC in May 1973. In November, 1969 she started her career after obtaining a master’s degree at the Central Party School.
From 1965 to 1969, she studied at Liaoning Anshan Industrial Technical School and then worked at Anshan Watch Factory, moving up from a common worker to a leader.
From 1974 to 1978, she served as Secretary of the Communist Youth League in Anshan Light Industry Administration Bureau.
From 1978 to 1979, she held a series of posts in Anshan Chemical Fiber Wool Spinning General Factory. She served as factory Party Chief from 1986 to 1988.
From 1988 to 1991 she held the post of president of Anshan Women’s Federation. Subsequently she took the post of vice chairman of Liaoning Provincial Federation of Trade Unions (1991-3), President of Liaoning Provincial Women’s Federation (1993-4) and Chairman of Liaoning Provincial Federation of Trade Unions (1994-5).
From 1995 to 2005, she held a series of posts in the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee. In 2005, she was appointed as the chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. She is also the first secretary of the secretariat of Federation and its Party chief. In November of 2009, the CPC Central Committee announced her appointment as Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC.
She has been an alternate member of the 15th and 16th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China, the member of the 12th presidium of All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
