Hu receives credentials from new foreign ambassadors

BEIJING - Chinese President Hu Jintao received credentials presented by new ambassadors from Sri Lanka, the Comoros, Surinam, Australia and the United States on Tuesday.

The ambassadors are Ranjith Uyangoda from Sri Lanka, Mahmoud Mohamed Aboud from the Comoros, Lloyd Lucien Pinas from Surinam, Frances Jennifer Adamson from Australia and Gary Faye Locke from the United States.

Aboud is also the first ambassador of the Comoros to China since the two established ties in 1975.

Hu spoke briefly with the ambassadors respectively after the receiving ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.
