Henan: Lu Zhangong

Lu Zhangong, a native of Cixi City, Zhejiang Province, was born in May 1952. He graduated from Heilongjiang Construction and Engineering School. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1975 and from 1989 to 1996, he held a series of posts in the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee.

He became deputy secretary of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee in 1996 and vice-chairman of the All China Federation of Trade Unions 1998. He took over as deputy secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee in 2001.

In 2002, he became provincial vice-governor, followed by governor in 2003 and secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee in 2004.

In November of 2009, the CPC Central Committee announced Lu had been appointed secretary of the Henan Provincial Committee of the CPC, replacing Xu Guangchun.

He is a member of the 16th and 17th CPC Central Committee.
